It was fun to attend the Titensor Reunion today in Woods Cross. We haven't seen Ryan's relatives in over 13 years. It's hard to believe it has been that long.

Our Jenkins Family Reunion
We have enjoyed visiting with most of our children today - two daughters and one son and families. We met our tenth granddaughter for the first time - she will be one-year old soon. Our son just got back from scout camp.
Lewis & Clark Center
We had a hot trip to Utah. A point of interest at Nebraska City, Nebraska was the Lewis & Clark Center.

Houston family
Question--
Is the famous Sam Houston of Houston Texas related to James Houston who owned the blacksmith shop at Haun's Mill, Caldwell, Missouri; and are both of them related to my ancestor Ann Houston (b. 25 Feb 1778 at Port Glasgow, Renfrew, Scotland, d. 19 May 1845 at Kilbernie, Ayrshire, Scotland and married to James Orr)?
According to Wikipedia, Sam Houston may descend from Sir John Houston (abt. 1693-1722) of Houston, Refrew, Scotland.
Hmmmm.

Afterwards we attended a special broadcast session in the chapel of the Seminar for New Mission Presidents entitled "The Work of Salvation".

A busy week
It's been a very busy week. Had a small minor outpatient surgery last Tuesday (get stitches out tomorrow) healing very well. Sent endorsed acceptance letters back to the First Presidency. Went through Missionary Packet. Mailed out Far West Ward envelopes to family contributors. Cashed out 401K. Got a missionary haircut (good for hot humid weather). Found required missionary clothing for Ryan. Finally found required sturdy umbrellas for a decent price. Getting financial affairs in order. Enrolled in health insurance. Finished responsibilities in planning the 2013 McBride Reunion (in August). Started re-reading the Book of Mormon again (needs to be done by July 1st). Created a Profile on Mormon.org. Planned tentative travel itinerary. Worked on a budget. Gathered supplies to take. Harvested strawberries. Taught lesson in Relief Society.
The mission office called today and said gave us our assignment. The mission office is scrambling to find us a place to live.
